Summer Research 2024
In Summer of 2024 I was given the opportunity to join a small Summer Research group at McDaniel College which focused on Narrative Artworks. Each project we worked on had to be a minimum of 3 feet across, and we had to create our own reference photos. We were also encouraged to look at master works to inspire compositions.
I used this opportunity to dive deeper into my Folklore theme and layout there narrative in a larger form. Towards the end, specifically my last. two projects “The Sun King” and “Fixing a Hole” I began to mesh themes of folklore with certain Beatles Songs to create a unique narrative.
Each of us produced a total of four works, the first two I did were in charcoal and the last two in oil paint. Putting in a total of 40 hours a week for 7 weeks. All of which are showcased below.
